LDN-REDUX

_
This multichannel audio visual performance explores the landscape and architecture of London through a combination of live video remix and live electronic musical score. The piece paints an anthropomorphic portrait of London which encourages its audience to contemplate the city as a living organism. In parallel with this kaleidoscopic view of the every day life, the performance seeks to explore the city as a complex structure through its relationship with a more hidden landscape of digital information. The resulting audio visual journey transports its audience through this sprawling metropolis to reveal its human activities as an abstract dance over a 24-hour cycle.

How Hip Hop Changed the World

We are very busy with a new broadcast graphics project for Jamie Oliver‘s production company Fresh One which will air on Channel 4 later this summer. We’re developing a 30 second title sequence and on screen graphics for a 2 hour list show which explores how Hip Hop has changed the world.  More soon but here’s a little taster of some work in progress:

Overall creative direction has been from chief surgeon general Christopher Thomas Allen. Its been lots of fun to do and we’ve pulled in several of our favorite collaborators: Mitchy Bwoy for his illustrative graphic prowess, the very talented Tom Wall from BlinkinLab for his mighty animation skills along with Jonny Cuba from Soundsci for meaty beats and sound design.

Super Everything in Malaysia

Me & Tim are just back from an extremely busy 3 weeks in Malaysia filming and recording material for our new audio visual performance project that’s currently in development with the support of the British Council. Many thanks to all the lovely people who helped us out on our travels – especially Canon Malaysia for their support and loaning of equipment! Lots more to share on this exciting new collaboration in the months leading up to its premier in September.. there will be a dedicated project website launching in the coming weeks and lots of open source material from the project for people to remix! all very exciting stuff… Until then, here’s a selection of behind the scenes snaps taken by collaborating artist Fauzi Yusoff of Efozy Design Studio on his iPhone during the trip. Enjoy..

Do you want to be part of our new installation for the new permanent gallery at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich? On Friday 25 February 2011 the museum is inviting the public to come down and tell us what the sea means to you.. Perhaps it’s your earliest beach holiday memory, your stories of a famous sailing relative, or an exciting voyage you’ve made. Or simply the feeling you have when you look out to the horizon…

We’ll be turning peoples responses into a series of  videos that will become part of a larger installation in the Voyagers gallery and they may also appear on online. Here’s marine broadcaster Tom Cunliffe’s response to give you an idea of what your video might be like. Space is limited so book a slot now. Register here!
